Askari was born on 14 May 1914 in Samarra Iraq. His ancestors were among the traditionalists in the jurisprudence of their period. Allamah Majlisi welcomed his ancestors to Saveh (in present-day Iran) in the 17th century and gave them the title of Shaykh al-Islam (a position equivalent to the Imam of Friday prayers).

Allama Askari concentrated mainly on historical research. He has published over 50 novels. Two of them Abdullah Ibn Saba and 150 (So-Called) Companions shocked both the researchers and the public requiring centuries of further studies on the subjects.

The last book addressed 150 individuals who never lived but many claimed that they were the companions of the Islamic prophet. Askari argued that there was no basis in fact for these subject matters which many had believed were indisputable truths and facts. In several fields especially social affairs he continued his activities and founded several schools and clinics.

He was however concerned with the unity of the Islamic Ummah and the links between the Muslim divisions. If the Shiites freed themselves from historical allegations by the Sunnis he believed his words would be admitted and thus dedicated his energies to disproving these accusations that created animosity to the Shiites.

This book consists of a complete summary of Islam according to the Shia point of view. This book describes the proof and references of the Shia outlook from the Sunni books. It deals with the complete study of the matter of khilafat and Imamate.
